The World Bank-funded Punjab Affordable Housing Initiative is being co-implemented by the Urban Unit and Punjab Housing and Town Planning agency (PHATA) (PAHP). The Program will help the Punjabi government improve the quantity and calibre of affordable housing while also supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen its housing institutions and processes.
The emphasis will be on encouraging the private sector’s involvement in the provision of affordable housing through infrastructure investment support and the public sector’s provision of alternative housing solutions to the most vulnerable. Additionally, institutions with crucial roles in housing policy and programmes will be strengthened. Regulatory reforms in the housing sector will also be deepened.
